Bill Roulette, M.A., RPA
President/Principal Investigator
Bill is a qualified archaeologist meeting all of the requirements of the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualification standards. He has worked with a wide variety of state and federal cultural resource regulations. He is thoroughly versed in the history and prehistory of the Pacific Northwest and has extensive experience in all phases of archaeological research and fieldwork including background documentary and cartographic research, archaeological survey and excavation techniques, and analysis of archaeological data. He has written or co-authored more than 2,300 technical reports.

Aimee Finley, M.S.
Historic Preservation Specialist
Aimee has been a professional archaeologist since 1993 and a professional Historic Preservationist since 1999. Aimee is an expert in identifying, describing, and assessing above-ground cultural resources and is well-versed in the National Register of Historic Places evaluation and nomination process, federal and state cultural resource compliance law, cultural resource planning, architectural history, architectural photography, and building documentation.

Don Pattee, M.A., RPA
Project Archaeologist
Don joined AAR in 2014. He is graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno where he was a research lab assistant and teaching assistant for the Great Basin Paleoindian Research Unit. He has experience in all phases of archaeological research and fieldwork including documentary and cartographic research, archaeological survey, and excavation techniques.

Dan Costa, B.A.
Archaeological GIS Specialist
Dan has worked in cultural resource management since earning his bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill ten years ago. While his primary professional focus is with archaeological resources, having conducted fieldwork and contributed to technical reports on projects throughout the US, Dan has recently begun a master’s degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Oregon. he is experienced in all phases of archaeological research and field as well as database management, geospatial analysis, and graphical map design.

Michelle Lynch, M.A., RPA
Project Archaeologist
Before joining AAR in 2016, Michelle worked on a wide variety of archaeological projects in Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and Malta. She specializes in historical archaeology with a specialty in mid- and late-19th century archaeology. She has experience in all phases of archaeological fieldwork and leads field projects.

Julie Wilt, M.S.
Project Archaeologist
Julie has extensive experience in all phases of archaeological research and fieldwork including background documentary and cartographic research, archaeological survey and excavation techniques, and archaeological monitoring. She has formal training in Section 106 compliance and is familiar with the legislation, regulations, guidelines, and related information about historic preservation policies and requirements under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966. Julie has particular expertise in archival and other types of research, report preparation, and editing.

Liz Mastrangelo, B.A.
Archaeologist
Liz has considerable archaeological fieldwork experience in the Pacific Northwest and Rocky Mountain regions, as well as in the Mid-Atlantic states. They have a diverse background in treatment of both historic and precontact sites, especially in Section 106 compliance. Liz’s career in archaeology started as a student in 2001, shifting to professional cultural resource management in 2013. In that time, they’ve worked with the US Park Service, US Forest Service, and under contract with many private clients, gaining a broad understanding of various CRM contexts and land use development.

Danielle E. Carmody, M.A. Project Archaeologist
Danielle has been a professional archaeologist since 2019, specializing in bioarchaeology. Her experience includes a variety of field and laboratory projects focused on the identification, recovery, analysis, and curation of human skeletal, dental, and hair remains. In addition to bioarchaeology, her research interests include public archaeology, applied anthropology, and how those subjects relate to one another. Prior to joining AAR in 2024, she worked throughout the southeastern United States and internationally.

Sloane St. Croix, M.F.A.
Operations Manager
Sloane joined AAR in the fall of 2022. She brings with her a background in business administration and writing. When not in the office, you can find Sloane on the soccer pitch.

T. Race Workman, PhD, RPA
Geoarchaeologist/Project Archaeologist
Race is a Geoarchaeologist with extensive experience in hydrogeology, geomorphology, paleoclimatology, isotope geochemistry, and soils. He joined AAR in 2022 and is thoroughly versed in the history and prehistory of the Pacific Northwest. He has extensive experience in all phases of archaeological research and fieldwork including background documentary and cartographic research, archaeological survey and excavation techniques, and analysis of archaeological data. He holds certifications in 40-Hr HAZWOPPER, OSHA Deep Testing and Confined Spaces, CPR, as well as Wilderness First Aid. Race has over 16 years of experience in conducting Geoarchaeological field studies throughout his tenure in academia and CRM. He has designed and lead field studies throughout the American Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Eastern Hungary, and Northern Atacama Desert in Chile.
